Xabi Alonso and Florentino Perez attended the presentation of Fundacion Mujeres por Africa (Women for Africa Foundation) at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid's Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. Both men shared the stage with HRH Queen Sofia of Spain, who will be the Honorary President of the foundation, which looks to promote empowerment, equal rights and opportunities for African women. Alonso, who has been named ambassador of the foundation with world class basketball player Pau Gasol, addressed the media after the act.
"This foundation is worth it. It strives for the common good by helping develop a continent at every level."
"We're not obsessed about the difference in points between us and Barcelona. We shouldn't change the way we do things. We must go little by little and win each game in the coming weeks, in which we'll play less matches."
"I love both La Liga and the Champions League. I've never won the Spanish league and I'd like to, but the Champions League has a special attraction. It's impossible to choose between the two."
"The coach hasn't said anything regarding the rumours of his leaving the club. We're all focusing on what's at stake, which is very important. We always have the same style regardless of opponents and of whom makes the starting lineup. The manager makes us go all out for the three points, controlling our moves and telling us what to do."
