How do you feel about returning to Real Madrid after spending a year with Fuenlabrada?

I am very happy. I was told I would be returning when the season ended. I really wanted to come back and play here.

There is no question that spending a season with another team was the best thing that could happen.

I think I took full advantage of my year with Fuenlabrada. I gained the confidence needed to play here. I think the most important trait for any athlete is to believe in themself. I want to prove that I am capable of playing here.

Have you had time to speak with Joan Plaza?

We haven't spoken yet, but we haven't had time either. I would like to sit down with him so that he can tell me what his expectations are. Playing for a team like Fuenlabrada isn't the same as playing here, but I think I need more responsibility to play and I am ready to take it on.

Responsibility for the team's perimeter game, for example?

I am ready. In focused more on defensive skills during my first two years here, but last year I had more room to work with on offense and I think this year will be similar. We have a very talented team, so I hope we play well and that the fans enjoy.

What did you think about your teammates after your return?

The team is practically the same as it was three years ago. It's a lot easier to play when you know all the players. This is the first time I've been with the squad during the preseason. I have a month to prepare, which will make adjusting much easier than it was during my first two seasons, when I got back after spending the entire summer with my national team. It was a complicated situation, especially for a young player. I have more experience now. I am familiar with the club, the coach, and my teammates. I think it will be much easier.

What are Real Madrid's goals this season?

Our goals are always the same: to win every game possible and to be a top contender for every title. The same goes for this year. We have the talent and the chemistry. Madrid had a great season last year, but when it came to crunch time in the playoffs, they slacked off a little, which is what we will try to correct this season.
