Álvaro Arbeloa celebrates his 30th birthday today. The defender, who is playing his fourth consecutive season for Real Madrid, has now played 147 official games on the team. The home-grown player returned to the white club in the summer of 2009 after his experiences on Deportivo and Liverpool. With Mourinho as coach, his list of achievements has grown, with a Spanish League championship, a Copa del Rey, and a Spanish Supercup.
Arbeloa’s debut with Real Madrid occurred on October 16, 2004, in a championship Spanish League game at the Benito Villamarín stadium against Betis (1-1). In the 147 games he has played in the ranks of Real Madrid, he has made three goals. The defender has also been a part of the most successful Spanish national team in history, with one World Cup and two Eurocup championships.
