In addition Real Madrid has finished with a clean sheet on five occasions; almost 50% of the matches played.

Despite the setbacks suffered in defence with the injuries to Marcelo, Coentrão and Arbeloa, Real Madrid are showing that they are solid at the back and in addition to having attacking DNA they are also applied in defence. After 11 League matches the white team are the best defensive team with an average of 0.72 goals against per match, beating Málaga (0.81), Atlético de Madrid (1) and Valladolid (1.09).

Against Levante a run of three clean sheets came to an end, which had begun on day eight of the League with the 2-0 against Celta de Vigo and continued with the two following matches; 0-5 in Mallorca and 4-0 against Zaragoza in the Santiago Bernabéu.
