A day after their victory in the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup), Real Madrid began to prepare the next League commitment against Zaragoza at Santiago Bernabéu stadium (Saturday, 8:00 p.m., Channel + Liga and Gol T). In the training session that was carried out in Real Madrid City, the Portuguese coach had 21 players on hand, including two from Castilla, Alex y José Rodríguez.
Having handled the dangerous Cup opening in Alcoy authoritatively, the white squad switched gears and is now focused on La Liga, where they have a string of five games without a loss, with two victories in the last two games against Celta and Mallorca. The Real Madrid team, which is receiving Zaragoza this Saturday for the tenth League game, carried out its first training session with the aim of coming up to snuff to face off against their opponents, who are in ninth place.
The first of two sessions the white squad has to get ready for Saturday’s game started off with an easy warm-up in which the 21 players divided up into three groups out on the green. In one group, eight of those in the line up yesterday at El Collao did recuperation exercises with Rui Faria. In another, the rest of the available first team field football players plus Alex Fernández and José Rodríguez, who made his debut in the Cup, exercised at a more intense pace. The third group, with Casillas, Adán, and Jesús, followed instructions from goalkeeper coach Silvino Louro.
After the warm-up, the biggest group worked hard under the watchful eye of José Mourinho. The session included ball passing exercises, shots, and rounds, ending up with a series of short games among the members of that group.
