After playing for the 90 minutes in the Cup game against Alcoyano, Nacho had a positive evaluation for the second leg: “1-4 is a good result; we’re going with peace of mind, although nothing is definitive in football. We’ve been very good, we’ve defended, and then we’ve known how to take advantage of our opportunities.” The white defender praised their rival: “They’ve wielded their arms very well; we knew we were playing on a small field and against an opponent who had prepared the game very well, but we made it.”
In addition to the results, one news item from the start in the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup) was the participation of several academy players on the team. Among them, José Rodríguez, who made his debut scoring a goal. Nacho said in this regard: “Everybody’s really happy. Opportunities are very important for academy players, and they’ve known how to take advantage of them.” Along the same lines, Adán said: “It’s a reason to be happy. Whenever an academy player comes up and does things wells, we're happy. It’s great for everybody to see José Rodríguez make his debut at 17, and what's more, with a goal. But Nacho and Morata have been phenomenal too. Being here is their merit.”
Adán analyzed the team’s performance in Alcoy: “We’ve been good, very focused and concentrated from the beginning. At the defensive level, good, although we’ve got a bitter taste in our mouths because of the goal they made. We’re happy about the result; the playoff is very close now. We know the kind of game we were going to find, typical of Second B division, with little space, and we’ve solved it in the best way possible.”
