National and international media is reverberating with talk of the amazing bicycle kick goal from Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick against Ajax. The landslide victory in Amsterdam places the Whites as the sole leader of Champions League group D. In France, the newspaper L'Equipe described their countryman’s goal as follows: "Karim Benzema scored an absolutely sublime goal last night. The sort that defines a career. He was already influential just before the break with a magnificent attack down the left wing that led to Ronaldo’s first goal".

On Sky Sports Real Madrid’s number 9 also received praise: "Benzema then made it two after the interval with a stunning bicycle kick". In Portugal, the Público newspaper said that "Cristiano scored three, but the best was Benzema’s. The goal coming from a bicycle kick following a cross from Kaká was the best moment of the night". And the Gazzeta Sportiva from Brazil also devoted a few words to the Frenchman: "Benzema was on target with a bicycle kick full of class".

In regard to the national press, Marca described Karim Benzema’s goal as "a masterpiece". They wrote "Kaká’s cross was good, but the Benzema’s bicycle kick exceeded all expectations. A masterpiece". In addition, the cover read "three great goals for CR7 and a Benzema collectors’ item take Real Madrid top".

The newspaper AS' front page headlines read: "Elated to the Nou Camp". And inside described the French forward's goal: "Kaká put in a floating (not drilled) ball and the shy genius finished with more of a scissor kick than a bicycle kick". It also highlighted Ronaldo’s hat-trick and his scoring average: "Cristiano is a beast that has now scored twelve goals this season and has 158 in 154 matches for Real Madrid. That average is beyond admirable".

In El País they wrote that "Benzema scored a collectors’ item of a goal for its difficulty and the fluidity of his fantastic finish", while El Mundo said: "Benzema masterpiece. The second goal was no less than a lightning bolt of a counter attack". ABC said that "Benzema showed off with a bicycle kick after the break". In La Razón they wrote: "Great match for Benzema, who scored a goal, Kaká and Cristiano, with three goals, against Ajax ..." and La Gaceta noted that "Cristiano led the Real Madrid win against Ajax (1-4) with a hat-trick. A great match from a great Kaká and a spectacular Benzema goal".
