Several members of the Real Madrid squad already know what it means to win a Super Cup. Eleven Whites players have achieved this title, either in Spain or in other countries. Carvalho is the current Real Madrid player who has won it most times with five wins, followed by Benzema, Pepe and Casillas with three each. Mourinho is also a specialist in this competition, which he has won in Portugal, England and Italy

Other championships have also been favourable for Whites players. Pepe won two Super Cups with Oporto, while Carvalho won three with them. Carvalho later won twice more in England during his period playing with Chelsea. Xabi Alonso also won the Super Cup in Britain as did Cristiano Ronaldo, twice. Kaká, Özil and Benzema are the other Real Madrid players that have won this title in their sporting careers.

José Mourinho has been successful in the Super Cups with the top clubs that he has trained. In Portugal he won with Oporto, in England with Chelsea and in Italy he was champion with Inter Milan. Just as he already did with the Liga championship, the Portuguese coach could repeat the feat of winning a title in four different countries.
