Emilio Butragueño appeared before the press after the end of the first Liga match against Valencia: “We have started with a home draw but this is only just getting started. The team is very capable and we have to be optimistic”. He also wanted to highlight how well the team played, despite the first half in which we could have seen the influence of factors such as “the heat and the international games played on Wednesday, but in the second half the team had the ball and played smoothly. But we lacked the precision at goal so characteristic of last year”.
Emilio Butragueño highlighted the role carried out by the team's forwards: “Higuaín's goal shows what a first rate player he is, after a sensational pass from Di María. In the second half, with Benzema's advance up the field, we took a risk and went all out for the match”. The team face their next game against Barcelona with all the motivation in the world. “It's in our interests to play a good match and, if possible, secure a win. In our last games in the Nou Camp we didn't achieve the results we deserved, despite winning the Liga match there last year”. Lastly, he stated that “we have started with a home draw but this is only just getting started. The team is very capable and we have to be optimistic”.
