Real Madrid start the season at the Santiago Bernabéu with the objective of regaining the league title that they won last season against a formidable opponent, Valencia. Two of their forwards have a favourable record against the Valencians. Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuaín have managed to score ten goals between them in their last six league matches against them.
The effectiveness of the forwards has helped Real Madrid remain undefeated against Valencia CF in the last three seasons, with a record of five wins and a draw for the Whites since the Madrid strikers began to share the same changing room. Gonzalo “el Pipita” Higuaín, has scored six goals against Valencia in the last six matches, including a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory at the Mestalla in 2010-11. Meanwhile Cristiano has four goals in five matches.
