Ángel di María, who played 74 minutes with his national side, scored what was possibly the best goal of this day of international matches in Argentina's victory in Germany. With a powerful shot from more than 20 metres away, the Whites' midfielder was responsible for Argentina's third goal against a German team in which Khedira and Özil were taken off together in the 68th minute. Higuaín played the whole match.

Messi took the penalty and missed, but Argentina went into halftime ahead on the scoreboard thanks to a stroke of luck. In trying to clear a corner, Khedira scored an own goal (45').
In the second half Messi (52') extended their lead and Di María performed the work of art of this day of international matches with a powerful shot from more than 20 metres away (72'). Howedes reduced the lead with nine minutes to go until the end of the match. Higuaín, whose shot hit the post on one goal opportunity, played the whole match, while Özil and Khedira were substituted in the 68th and Di María six minutes later.
