José Mourinho is excited and ready for the new season that is approaching. His team is aware of the constant struggle it faces. In an interview he gave to the American channel Fox, the manager of the Whites analysed the strength of his team last season and the difficult challenge they face this coming season: “We are hard at work preparing because we are well aware of the fact that it is not going to be easy, quite the contrary. The team is almost complete. They are special players, we have a lot of the best players in the world and my team’s motivation when faced with new challenges never ceases to surprise me. I give my team a 10 for its motivation as well”.

With regard to his preference between the Champions League or the Liga, Mourinho maintains levelheadedness he is famous for: “I know the Madrid fans have a great passion for the Champions League, but we just want to win titles. In my opinion, winning the Liga last year with the records we set was really hard and it is almost impossible to repeat that”.

The Real Madrid coach once again backed up his stance that the Ballon d’Or should be awarded to a member of his team: “Football for me is a team game. Real Madrid won a very important title and did so in spectacular style. The players who make the small or big contributions in a winning team are the candidates”.

Mourinho is a champion of the footballing momentum in the United States: “I am familiar with the sporting culture of this great country and I know that football will never be the most important sport, but everything that supports its deployment and strength is positive in my opinion. Football has amazing possibilities in this country”.
