The white team resumed its training session after thrashing Oviedo during the pre-season’s first friendly match (1-5). During the training session on the Real Madrid’s sports premises, José Mourinho worked with 23 players, including 10 starting lineup players and 13 junior players in view of the next match against Benfica next Friday.
Real Madrid is immersed in the pre-season second week. After the first match against Oviedo, in which the team showed the good health of its reserve players with up to 15 players from La Fábrica being part of the victory, the team resumed their training on Valdebebas field I in preparation for the next match against Benfica in the Eusebio Cup to be held in Lisbon next Friday.
All 23 players had a normal training session. Mourinho called on young players Jesús, Pacheco, Alex, Casado, Lucas, Ríos, Mateos, Juanfran, Iván, Mosquera, Denis, Nacho and Morata all of them directly involved in the victory over Oviedo for the training session. The team’s 10 main players including Sahin, recovered from the gastroenteritis that kept him away from the Carlos Tartiere stadium attended the gathering.
After the first 15 minutes of regular warm-up and stretching exercises led by Rui Faria, the players split up into two groups to play a series of “piggy-in-the-middle” games before they plunged into tactical issues. Real Madrid is preparing its second pre-season test to face off with Benfica at the Da Luz Stadium in Lisbon.
