Marcelo is participating in the London 2012 Olympic Games with Brazil. A total 23 Real Madrid players have participated in the Olympics throughout the club's history.
Monjardin, Escobal, Felix Perez and Del Campo played in Paris 1924 with the Spanish national team, while Mengotti did so with Switzerland. Real Madrid President Pedro Parages also attended as the Spanish national team coach. Madridistas didn't return until Mexico 1968, when youth teamers Espildora and Ciarruz were called-up by Spain.
