Sami Khedira is currently with Germany focusing on playing two qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup. The Real Madrid player took advantage of the chance to review his club’s current situation in statements to the official website of the German Football Federation: “This year we have more rotations and therefore more chance of winning.” The German midfielder also believes in continuing last season’s winning streak: “If we win our games and manage to perform consistently, I’m sure that something good will happen.”
Khedira talked about the Derby played a few days ago, which he believed his team deserved more from: “Obviously we would have liked to have won. We had a good chance to do so. The development of the game for us as a team was very positive.
That’s why we were really upset we couldn’t beat Barcelona.”
However, the Real Madrid player explained that it is a long season and that nothing has been decided yet: “The season just started. We have not given up. If we win the games and manage to perform consistently, something can happen. I’m sure that something is going to happen.”
The German player says this because he believes that Real Madrid is an even better team than it was when it won the League in the last championship: “New players have joined this year. We will have more rotations and therefore more chances to win.”
Lastly, he said he feels very comfortable under Mourinho’s command: “So far I've been lucky. I’ve been chosen to play in almost every important game. Mourinho knows what he’s doing and what he’s got in me. This is my third year with Real Madrid, and whenever I have been in shape, I have almost always played.”
