Castilla are at home for their 31st Liga Adelante fixture of the season as they take on Córdoba. It will be their 10th game of the second half of league fixtures and the Whites are proving to be particularly strong at home. Toril's men are unbeaten in their last five home games and need the three points to put distance between themselves and the relegation places. If they get the win, it will be the 11th of the season for the team from Madrid.
For Borja, this will be a special game, as he is facing the team for which he had an outstanding season last year. The Castilla player pointed out that the team's good home form of late is key to picking up the win and he also highlighted the dangers posed by his former team mates: “At home, we play well and work hard, which is a very good balance. We have to take advantage of that. They don't take risks, they will try to play football and win the game”.
Toril will have 18 players available for the visit of the team from Andalusia. Cheryshev and José Rodríguez will be available despite international commitments this week. Nacho, called upon by the Whites' manager in the last few games, will miss the game due to his Under-21 call up for Spain. Llorente, defender for Real Madrid C, and Morata have been included in Castilla's squad to face Córdoba.
At the start of play, the blanquiverde outfit sit ninth in the table, four points off the playoff places. After defeating Almería 4-1 last week, the team managed by Rafa Berges is looking to bounce back after a dismal run of results, which has seen them pick up just one win in six games. Cordoba travel to Madrid with injuries and suspensions to key players such as the suspended Rennella, the team's leading goal scorer, and the injured Dubarbier.
