Ninth-month streak was broken. Castilla suffered their first home defeat in the Second Division against Sabadell. The players led by Toril, who dominated the match comfortably in the first half, went ahead through Juanfran and Jesé, but the visitors turned the score around in the second with a Hannibal brace and goal from Moha. It was finely balanced until, in the final moment, it tipped to the side of the Catalonians. Now it's time to think of a visit to Guadalajara next Saturday.
Castilla played their second straight match in the Alfredo Di Stéfano and first blood went to the Whites’ with a continued bombardment of the visitors’ area. The first warning sign came from Juanfran on the 4th minute with a shot from distance that went high. But after that message came the first goal. It was the right winger that latched on to a great pass from Denis to put it past Nauzet in the 14th minute.
From then on the visitors went looking for a counter attack to draw level. Hidalgo had a chance that went close on 22 minutes with a header from inside the area, but Mejías made an authoritative save. Meanwhile, the Whites continued with their fluid style of play, playing the ball out from the back to get the second goal of the night, following a great play made by Jesé. The forward from the Canaries won the contest against his opponent with pace and took a powerful shot that went straight into Nauzet’s goal on the 35th minute. The home team were playing very well during this half and had the opportunity to increase their lead via a play started by Jesé with a through ball to Denis that could have made the score 3-0, but the shot of the Spanish-Russian was high. After that came the half-time break.
After coming out of the changing room Castilla continued playing the same style and just as it looked most likely that they could make it 3-0 Sabadell got their first. In the 49th Moha picked up a long ball and put the ball low past the advancing Mejías and closed the gap. Three minutes later, Hannibal squared the score with a strong header. The match turned against the Whites and in the 57th minute the Sabadell forward, who became top scorer in the division scored again make the score 3-2 to the visitors. In just twelve minutes the Catalonians turned the score around, forcing Castilla to react to keep their unbeaten home record going back to last December.
In the 68th minute some good dribbling from Jesé gave Juanfran the opportunity to push forward for the Whites, but the winger’s shot did net. In the 74th Juanfran put in a high cross for Oscar Plano, but the forward failed to finish. In the next play Mosquera tried his luck with a free-kick that ended up in Nauzet’s hands. Lady luck turned her back on Castilla who kept creating chances but could not convert. The home team tried until the last moment with two shots from Jesé and Mosquera in injury time, but their aim was not with them and they ended up losing to a Sabadell side that played their best in the second half and left Castilla losing their first match in the Second Division and breaking their undefeated run.
