The man is unstoppable. Today against Unicaja de Málaga, Nikola Mirotic will pass the 100 match mark in the ACB. The player, who has dual Spanish –Montenegrin citizenship and was voted Most Valued Player in the competition in October, will reach this symbolic milestone in the Martín Carpena stadium, where his team won a clean sweep 4-0 in the Top 16 of the Euroleague this Thursday when they defeated Repesa’s team 64-72.
The most highly valued player in this team, Mirotic has shown this season that the sky is the limit. The Real Madrid, who will rack up 100 matches in the white shirt, still remember his debut when Joan Plaza was his coach on day 26 of the 2008-2009 season. Now, as he approaches his 22nd birthday (on the 11th February) and now at the height of his career, Mirotic has begun to reap the fruits. With an average of 12.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, the player who started in the youth team has proven that his solidity in defense is increasing all the time and that when it comes to shooting he is simply relentless.
Mirotic, who only stopped wearing the Real Madrid jersey temporarily when he was given a free transfer to Palencia during the 2009-2010 season, when he played for LEB Oro, reaches this figure having played all the games in Real Madrid’s colors. Having been coached by Plaza, Messina and Laso, Mirotic continues to grow, as his stats reveal.
