The Endesa League calendar now has fixtures. Real Madrid will start their campaign in the national competition on the weekend of the 29 and 30 September with the aim of going further than last season when they almost won the title. They will do so a week later after having competed for the first title of the 2012/2013 season, the Spanish Super Cup, that will take place at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe in Zaragoza. The Basketball Clubs Association (ACB, in Spanish) revealed that the encounters taking place each week would be unveiled shortly.
The new season of the Endesa League kicks off once again on 29 and 30 September. 34 match days will take place over the course of the season in order to decide the eight teams that will face off against each other in the playoffs for the title, which will commence on 23 May. The final, the best of five matches, will start on either 9, 10 or 11 June, depending on whether the semifinals are decided in three matches, one of the two semifinals is decided in four matches and neither go to five or if both semifinals are decided over five matches, respectively.
Before playing their first game in the league, Real Madrid will take part in the Spanish Super Cup on 22 and 23 September, when the first official title of the 2012/13 season will be disputed. It will take place in Zaragoza and, as well as the Whites, Barcelona Regal, Valencia Basket and CAI Zaragoza, as hosts, will be attending.
Between match day 20 and 21 in the league there will be a break to play for the Spanish Super Cup. It will take place between 7 and 10 February 2013 and will be disputed between the top seven ranked teams after the first half of the league and the host (to be decided). Real Madrid will try to be there and defend the title they won at the Palau Sant Jordi against Barcelona Regal.
