With the recent FLP launch of the Liga Digital (Digital la Liga), fans and expert videogamers may join and compete to reach the top in the Real Madrid gamers team. The 2012/13 preseason starts on July 2 and all players will fight for a spot in the first team to defend Real Madrid colours.

Everyone can join. This is an opportunity for online gamers to join the club and compete as members of its digital academy. Those with the highest set of skills will be selected to the digital first team and play in the league championship.

Liga Digital has a clear purpose: to move Spanish tournaments Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante into the world of videogames. The initiative was born from the collaboration between the LFP (Spanish Professional Football League) and Arena Digital Sports (ADS), which is responsible for OnlineChampions.com, a football gamers website and social network.

About competitions in LIGA DIGITAL
The ‘Start up Trophy’ is currently taking place in order to celebrate the launch of LIGA DIGITAL, where all clubs from the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante are competing with squads made up by active gamers from different national tournaments. On June 26, the final picture for the Grand Final will be known, an event that will hold the semifinals and the final on 29 and 30 June 29 in Valencia.

The 2012/13 `preseason will begin on 2 July. During this period, all registered players will compete in their academies. Three starters and three reserves for each club of the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante will be chosen according to performance statistics and results, and an assessment by expert gamers acting as real scouts.

Alongside first team championships, the 2012/13 season of LIGA DIGITAL will Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante academy tournaments. Every game played by gamers listed on the academies will count towards the classification of their club. Nevertheless, the first team is always open and subject to change, which means any player is selectable and may reach the first team any time.
