Alberto Toril appeared before the press after Castilla's 5-1 victory over Huesca. The Whites' coach laid out the keys to his team's winning formula at the Alfredo Di Stefano: “We create danger and score goals easily. Without playing a good first half we scored two. They found themselves overwhelmed and didn't cause us many problems. We're becoming more solid, we're defending better. We've only conceded four goals at home so far this year”.
The Castilla manager calculates that his team is very close to maintaining their position in the division. “Winning an away match would save us. We're very close because we have a lot of points. Six points, with various teams fighting it out, doesn't equal an advantage of two games but of three or four. I think that with two more wins we'd practically be saved and hopefully they'll come soon”, Toril stated. He also revealed another of the team's secrets: “We always start out matches strong, as seen in our last two home matches. We do it to surprise our rival”.
After the goalfest against Huesca, the reserve team is looking to secure three points on their visit to Recreativo. “We have a great dynamic at home with great results. We need to take our playing in away games to the next level. This score is going to boost our strength for the game in Huelva. In our away matches we're not as accurate at goal, but in general we're doing well in the second half. We're perhaps eighth in the category in the second half”.
Toril discussed some of the players from the match. First he explained Jese's substitution after his two goals: “He had a fever recently and spent three days in bed. He made a huge effort and with the scoreboard in our favour there was no need to wear him out”. Borja, who scored the second goal of the match, was also praised by the coach: “He joined the team after a great season with Cordoba. He's adapted very well, he knows how to read a game, he's a great assistant and he doesn't need to score so many goals. I'm pleased when he does”.
He also wished to explain positioning Nacho in the left back: “It was a matter of tactics. We were up against a rival that plays a very direct and deep game. Their best player is Nuñez, who plays on the right and is very vertical. For me Nacho is a centre back, but he can also play as a wing back. The four players in the rear have played very well”. Regarding Alex and his return to the team Toril stated: “He was left on a technical decision. It hasn't been easy for him but it was necessary for us. When he's 100% he's a big help and I'm sure he'll play a lot up to the final”.
