English referee Howard Webb has been named for the return leg of the Champions League semi-final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund (Tuesday, 8:45 pm, Channel 1, TVE). The 41-year old official has already presided over three matches in the Champions League involving Real Madrid. He is best known for having refereed the World Cup final in South Africa between Spain and Holland.
The most recent occasion was last season in the Champions League semi-final first leg when Real played Bayern in Munich. Before that, he officiated the Milan-Real Madrid match in the Group Phase in 2010-2011. Webb’s first match involving Real was on 18 September 2007. That was against Werder Bremen at the Santiago Bernabéu, when the Whites ran out victors by 2-1 thanks to goals from Raúl and Van Nistelrooy.
