Spanish national coach Sergio Scariolo announced his provisional roster for the Olympic Games on Tuesday. Real Madrid's Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Llull and Felipe Reyes have made the cut, making Real Madrid the most represented side on the team. Scariolo will only have to drop one player to come up with the definitive roster before the Olympic Games begin.
Sergio Rodriguez has returned to the team for the first time since 2007 thanks to his spectacular run in the Endesa League playoffs.
Sergio Llull (the best point guard of the league with 10.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and a 12.4 PIR) is a fixture on the national side and will play as shooting guard alongside Juan Carlos Navarro (if he recovers in time from his plantar fasciitis), Rudy Fernandez o Rafa Martínez, who is a guest on the current roster.
Real Madrid captain Felipe Reyes is also a fixture and will make up what will possibly be the most solid game under the iron in the Olympics. He was Real Madrid's second most valued player this season behind Llull.
If they make the final cut, Sergio Rodriguez and Sergio Llull would play their first ever Olympic Games, while the Reyes would participate in them a fourth time.
