Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will play a charity match at the Santiago Bernabeu on 14 July. The clash intends to break the attendance record for any tennis match in the world.
Nadal
"Record attendance would also mean record support for the programmes carried out by the Realmadrid Foundation and the Rafa Nadal Foundation."
"I wish to thank Nole for accepting my invitation to participate in this charity match. It speaks volumes of the kind of person he is to participate so selflessly."
Djokovic
"It will be a great day. It could be historic and I'm sure we will not be alone at the Bernabeu. I ask all tennis fans in Spain to be with us on that day. I promise we will have a lot of fun."
"When Rafa asked me to participate in this charity match for the Realmadrid Foundation and his own I could not refuse."
Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid Director of Institutional Relations
"The club is very proud and is grateful to Rafa and Nole for their personal involvement. Lots of children will be able to improve on their way of life both personally and educationally thanks to the match."
