Real Madrid earned a victory in their first game of the return leg of the regular season. The Whites have established themselves as the best side on the road in the Endesa League and earned a fifth straight win in the championship at the Fernando Martin Arena. Velickovic reappeared after his long injury and Carroll was the top scorer with 12 points.
Sergio Rodriguez acted as master of ceremonies and Ante Tomic dominated under both irons, helping Real earn a 10-point cushion. Local coach Porfirio Fisac asked for time-out, after which his side banked two three-pointers and got the crowd roaring with two spectacular dunks by Robert Joseph. Mirotic and Begic blocked two of the Haitian's next shots, helping the Madridistas react and earn an 8-point cushion (18-26).
Real Madrid needed three minutes to score their first basket in the second period through Carroll and Fuenlabrada capitalised on this (24-28). Ferran Laviña was the standout local player, but his efforts were not enough to stop Reyes and Begic under the iron (24-33). A Pocius three-pointer with two seconds left in possession increased the Whites' lead (26-37), and Hall made good use of a time-out to score when there was one minute left in the quarter. Mirotic failed to do so in their last possession, but Madrid kept well in the lead (28-37).
The game slowed down after half-time; the locals had scored only two points in the first four minutes to the Whites' five (30-42). Real Madrid pressurised more in defence and improved in offence to earn a 15-point lead. Fuenlabrada couldn't break their barrier, but a Saul Blanco field goal, a three-pointer by Laviña and a 2+1 from Robert Joseph helped them reduce distances (39-49). The locals fought hard to stay in the game, but Real kept ten points in the lead (45-55).
Carroll banked two consecutive three-pointers in the first two possessions of the last period (47-61) and Reyes used a technical foul against Laviña (47-67) before Velickovic sealed the clash with a three-pointer (57-79).
