Gonzalo Higuain has scored 74 goals in La Liga, more than any other player on the Real Madrid squad. The Argentine has scored five strikes this season and nets at least one hat-trick per campaign in the championship.
Higuain scored his first hat-trick in La Liga in the 2008/09 season. Week 10 that year saw him net four goals in Real Madrid's 4-3 victory over Malaga, helping the team turn the score around from an initial 2-3 defeat.
On Week 26 of the 2009/10 campaign, Higuain scored another hat-trick in Valladolid. Cristiano Ronaldo netted the team's frist strike from a free-kick and the Argentine scored the rest in the team's 4-1 victory. Last season, the striker tallied three goals in Real Madrid's 6-3 victory over Valencia at Mestalla.
Higuain netted three goals in Real's 4-0 victory against Espanyol at Cornella-El Prat this season. He scored the opening two strikes and also the fourth. The Madridista striker proved to be in excellent form after the back surgery he underwent last season. El Pipa is on a roll, having also netted a hat-trick with Argentina against Chile last weekend.
