The eight goals Karim Benzema has scored this summer make him the preseason top goal scorer among the teams of Europe’s strongest leagues and who will feature in the next edition of the Champions League. Bayern Munich striker Nils Petersen has also scored the same number of goals. Additionally, the Benzema-Ronaldo partnership is the most effective on the continent.
Benzema has finished the preseason as Europe’s top goal scorer. The Frenchman has scored eight goals in seven games becoming the top goal scorer among the players of Champions League teams.
The striker started the summer with two goals against Los Angeles Galaxy in the US. He then followed with two more goals in Europe when Real Madrid took on Hertha Berlin and Liecester City respectively. In China, he scored two braces against Guanghzou Evergrande and Tianjin Teda.
The only other player from the English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portugese, and German leagues who scored the same number of goals is Bayern’s Peterson. Interestingly, the two players who come second also come from the same teams; Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez who have scored seven goals each. In third place comes Udinese player Fabbrini with six goals.
