Realmadrid.com published a survey with a selection of Cristiano Ronaldo's best goals of the season to see which one proved to be the fans' favourite. The unquestionable winner was the player's spectacular header in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, which gave Real Madrid the title.
► RESULTS OF 'BEST CRISTIANO RONALDO GOAL OF THE 2010/11 SEASON' SURVEY
Ronaldo's header in the Copa final earned 40,616 votes of a total 75,856. The second strike with the most votes was the one he netted on 15 May at El Madrigal, with which he equalled Hugo Sanchez and Telmo Zarra's record of 38 goals in one La Liga season. The strike against Zaragoza on 12 December came in third.
Fans didn't just vote for the winner because of its beauty, but also because of its importance. Cristiano scored the only goal of the match in overtime (105'). Pepe recovered the ball in midfield and served it to Marcelo. The Brazilian then tried to overtake Busquets, but eventually decided to give the ball to Di Maria, who used a wall pass to overtake Alves and then cross the ball into the box. Cristiano defeated Adriano in the air and finished off the assist with a header and thus gave the team its first Copa title since 1993.
