Karim Benzema scored his 10th league goal of the season and following the match discussed the importance of the victory against Valencia.

Benzema:
"It was a good day. We played a great match and scored six goals. Valencia is a good team, but Madrid were fantastic. Winning was important heading into Wednesday's match. I feel great on a personal level."

Albiol:
"The game was all downhill after such a great first half. We had a big lead heading into halftime and in the last 20 minutes we just got tired. We didn't expect such a lopsided scored against a team as good as Valencia. We accomplished what we came for, and that was the three points."

"The longer the season goes the better. A weight has been lifted now that we won the Cup in what was a very tough match, and today those who play less frequently showed that they have a lot to contribute. We now have a month and a half full of important things like the Champions League."
