Tottenham Hotspur and Shaktar are this season's most surprising teams. The English side is incredibly strong at White Hart Lane, where they stand undefeated in the UCL (three victories, one draw). Against AC Milan, they proved they can also win away from home despite this having been a problem in the group stage. They nevertheless topped their group over Inter Milan and Werder Bremen despite losing 4-3 at San Siro, drawing 2-2 in Germany, and earning a 3-3 score against Twente in the Netherlands. Tottenham are an offensive team with incredible quality in the front three quarters of the pitch thanks to the likes of Modric, Van der Vaart, Lenon, Peinaar, Bale, Defoe, Pavlyuchenko and Crouch. They nevertheless seem to need improvement in defence.
