The Sanitas-Real Madrid Medical Services, Gonzalo Higuain, his family and the Club, have all decided the player will have surgery on his herniated disc in the Department of Neurological Surgery of Chicago's Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The oparation will be conducted by Dr. Richard G. Fessler, M.D., on Tuesday 11 January.
Dr. Fessler, Chief of the aforementioned department, is internationally renown. He has innovated spinal surgery in several technical areas by use of endoscopic and micro-endoscopic surgical procedures.
