Three Real Madrid players took centre stage in the international arena thanks to scoring goals with their national teams in the last few days.
Sergio Canales gave a stellar performance with Spain's Under-21 side by scoring the victory goal against Poland right at the end of the match. The victory allows the Reds to keep their chances of making the Under-21 Euro and to be in the 2010 London Olympics.
Higuain was also important in Argentina's 4-1 victory over Spain, scoring the team's second strike from a brilliant one-on-one against goalkeeper Reina.
Karim Benzema netted the opening goal in France's match against Bosnia-Herzegovina. The strike boosted his team-mates' morale and Malouda tallied a second goal minutes later.
