Real Madrid return to work to prepare for the 2010/11 season and the ACB Super Cup. Ettore Messina will start work with his men on 27 August. The preseason will end in Benidorm, where the team will stay between 16 and 23 September.
The first training weeks will take place in the sports centre from Valle de las Cañas (Pozuelo), but the only first team players available will be Sergio Rodriguez, Sergi Vidal, Clay Tucker, D’or Fischer and Nicola Mirotic. Youth teamers from the EBA side will join them to complete the sessions.
Pablo Prigioni, Sergio Llull, Felipe Reyes, Jorge Garbajosa, Novica Velickovic and Ante Tomic are currently with their national teams to play the World Championship in Turkey. They will rejoin Real Madrid on 16 September to travel to Benidorm. The Madridistas will stay at Villaitana Wellnes, Golf & Business Resort and they will have two-a-day workouts involving physical and tactical exercises. It will be held at Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano’s sports hall, located in nearby town La Nucia. The sports hall has a gym, a swimming pool and a spa.
Real Madrid will play several preparation friendlies during the preseason prior to the ACB Super Cup, set to take place on 24 and 25 September in Vitoria. Other teams to participate in the championship are Barcelona, Power Electronics Valencia and host side Caja Laboral. They will also play the 27th edition of the CAM (Comunidad de Madrid) Tournament against Asefa Estudiantes and C.B Fuenlabrada.
