Real Madrid basketball's new home is a brand new sports complex located on the south side of Madrid. Designed by French arquitect Dominique Perrault, it has seating capacity of 12,442 and all the amenities expected of a new sports venue.
The Caja Magica (Magic Box) is surrounded by several buildings for sports, garden areas, a lake and a "Media Garden" where television trucks and personnel can park. There is also a private 100-car garage and a public parking area.
Some of the most notable features of the venue include the retractable roof and the reflective exterior, which is opaque during the day and sparkling at night. The building combines vanguard design with versatility and sustainability.
