Esteban Granero sat down with Marca and AS to discusses his run of excellent form of late.
"I always say my best football is yet to come, but the Espanyol match was probably my best to date. The team played well on all levels. I feel good physically, I am playing more frequently and my confidence is rising. I don't want to put a ceiling on things because I have always surpassed the goals I have set for myself."
"I learn a lot from Raul, but it also helps to be surrounded by such important players. I was fortunate to train with the first team when I was still in the academy. The current youth teamers need to take advantage of the opportunities they receive."
"I am very fortunate to receive such good treatment from fans. It makes me very proud and eager to respond to the confidence they have given me. I would love to be a Real Madrid figure head and to contribute to the success of the team that I have loved since I was a kid. I think I am on the right track. I am training well and following the coach's orders."
"My most important goal? The one I will score in Lyon. My objective is to help the team. Scoring is always nice as long as it serves the team in the proper way."
"Going to work at Valdebebas every day with this team is a blessing and I need to enjoy every day of it. The competition here is tought and those of us with so much to prove still cannot slip up. This is Real Madrid and I can never lose focus."
"The coach has said from day one that there is no set starting eleven. He has always been objective and has paid close attention to each player's form. I am lucky to have a coach who pay such close attention to me and who corrects me. I think I am improving in the sense that I touch the ball faster, make the game more consistent, have better placement on the pitch and that I reach the box better. It is important that midfielders dictate tempo and score goals. I am lucky to play here because I have learned more in the last six months than throughout my entire career."
"We hope Barcelona slip up one of these days. We are playing well, but we still have to improve if we want to catch them."
