Iker Casillas has had an incredible year. He was recently named to the FIFA/FIFPro World XI and past accolades include the top goalkeeper by IFFHS, inclusion in UEFA’s Team of the Year for the second year running, the 2007/08 Zamora Trophy winner, the best goalkeeper in the most recent Euro and the list goes on. Today he would like to “wish you all a happy holiday season celebrated in the company of those you hold closest to your hearts.”
He jokingly recommends “not to eat too much because the effect will later be visible. Be careful if you are on the roads because there are always problems on the highways around these dates. Enjoy and Happy Holidays to everyone. This is a wonderful time to spend with family and loved ones. I love the feeling of being with those you care for the most.”
As a final request, “I ask that those who I care for and who care for me remain healthy and, football-wise, that we accomplish the goals we have set for both La Liga and the Champions League.”
