The season begins with the ACB Super Cup, in which Real Madrid, Caja Laboral, Barcelona and Gran Canaria will fight for the title. The competition will be held at Las Palmas' Centro Insular de Deportes. Real Madrid will have to defeat Caja Laboral -formerly known as TAU Vitoria- tonight at 22:00 CET in order to reach the final.
Ettore Messina's boys have a great chance to start the season by winning a title. The coach has instilled the squad with an incredible winning spirit, which is boosted by the presence of recent Eurobasket winners Garbajosa, Reyes and Llull.
Caja Laboral have won four of the five Super Cups held so far. The clash will be special for Madridistas Prigioni, Vidal and Hansen, who used to play for the team -the former two left this summer to join the Whites-. Tonight's winner will face the victor of the Gran Canaria 2014-FC Barcelona fixture.
Tomas van den Spiegel and Darjus Lavrinovic will miss the game due to injury. Caja Laboral won't be able to count on Brad Oleson, Walter Herrmann and Lior Eliyahu, and Brazilian point guard Marcelino Huertas may also miss the clash.
