Fans are thrilled by the new Real Madrid and want to see it live in action. Every ticket has been sold for the 24 August 22:00 CET Santiago Bernabeu Trophy match against Rosenborg.
The games against Al Ittihad and Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito in the Peace Cup didn't have the team's internationals and latest signings Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso.
Manuel Pellegrini's team has gradually improved throughout the preseason. Real Madrid have earned six victories, one draw and one defeat, scoring 2.75 goals per game (22 total strikes), and conceding only six. The Whites haven't lost a single fixture since the squad was completed, defeating Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and 5-0, respectively.
The team's last three games anticipated what we can expect from it during the campaign: Casillas is still proving to be the best keeper in the world; Arbeloa, Pepe, Albiol, Metzelder, Marcelo and Drenthe have been playing solidly in defence, thwarting every team's goal-scoring chances; Granero and Xabi Alonso have boosted the team's creativity and attacking power; and Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Higuain, Raul, Benzema and Robben have scored 3.33 goals per clash between them.
Despite the change in opponent -originally Milan were set to participate-, ticket sales have been outstanding for the Trophy. Only 70 were refunded, a true sign of how thrilled fans are with the new squad.
