Optimism grabbed hold of Madridismo after winning the first league title. Several signings were made in order to triumph again; notably Samitier –who would join the Club in February– and Pedro Regueiro. As in the previous season, Athletic Bilbao was to be the toughest opponent.
Real Madrid were taking huge leaps forward. During this season new Club headquarters were opened in an elegant building located on Paseo Recoletos.
The league championship was becoming increasingly important. This year’s was to be its sixth edition and Spanish society’s interest in it was ever-growing. The main contenders were Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. Real Madrid jumped to first place on Matchday 2 and never ceased to lead the table. The championship was won during the penultimate match day after winning 8-2 against Arenas Guecho. In the end, the team earned 13 victories, 2 draws, 3 defeats, scored 49 goals and conceded 17. Zamora was the least scored upon goalie (17 goals in 18 games) yet again.
