The magnitude of the Peace Cup is heightened when taking into consideration the social responsibility aspect of the competition and the world-class heavyweights such as Sevilla, Juventus, Olympique Lyonnais, Celtic, Porto, Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe who will participate. The competition dates back to 2003 and takes place on a biennial basis. The 2009 edition was held between 24 July and 2 August.
