Real Madrid's youth system has the latest technology at its service for the perfect formation of players. Youth teamers are already benefitting from the Realmadrid TEC-Sanitas facilities.
"I think it's important for the kids in the academy to fully experience sport," says Valter di Salvo, "We want all the players in the youth system to fully realise their potential and work like professional players."
"We will work with players that range from 13 years of age to those on the first team. Each age group has different demands. Younger players should strengthen their muscles. We don't want the kids to do the same work the first team does; depending on his characteristics -such as age, height and weight-, each player needs a completely different training scheme. That's why are going to try to come up with individual programs; some children may have developed anthropometrically before others."
"Several studies throughout Europe have revealed that there are important differences amongst players depending on the position they have on the pitch. For example, centre backs do a different job than full backs. The former cover a smaller portion of the pitch, while the latter constantly run up and down their wings."
"Our goal is to register parameters of strength, speed, resistance and anthropometric measurements in order to tell the coaching staff in charge of the player to come up with specific workouts for him. We will monitor these and their results for two months. In order to be properly evaluated, a player must go through Realmadrid TEC-Sanitas several times."
Javier Lozano, Director of the Training and Development Centre
"We should be very proud of Realmadrid TEC-Sanitas. It is a piece of Real Madrid City all Madridismo should be proud of. It is very hard to find a similar place anywhere else in the world."
"The youth system is much more anonimous than the first team. We work like ants to have excellent results in the long run. This allows us to strive for quality and to get to know the body of each of our players. Being able to build athletes will provide us with physical perfection. This evolution will reach the physical and tactical area of our work, where it will be thoroughly studied. We will also use interviews try to come up with a profile for competitive players, since winners share several behavioural patterns. Realmadrid TEC-Sanitas is the philosopher's stone on which all these projects will take place."
"We have to come up with competitive athletes and good people. The education of a player is an essential part of his formation as an athlete. We are trying to improve on the integral formation of each person. Our duty is to always use the best there is."
