Real Madrid returned to Valdebebas on Friday for their fifth workout of the week before hosting Villarreal on Sunday at 17:00 CET. Miguel Torres has the flu and was unable to participate, thus joining Gonzalo Higuaín in the sick bay.
The session began with a routine jog and warmup drills. Fitness trainer Jordi García and assistant coach Marcos Álvarez then split the squad into pairs for more physical activities. Casillas, Dudek and Jordi Codina meanwhile practiced with goalkeeper coach Pedro Jaro.
Once the ball came into play, it was time for control exercises and a practice match.
The only two absentees were Gonzalo Higuaín and Miguel Torres. The Argentine is recovering at home from a bout with tonsilitis, while the defender did show up at Valdebebas this morning only to be sent home by the medical staff.
The team will conduct one more session on Saturday at 11:00 CET in order to make final preparations for the year opener at the Santiago Bernabéu.
