French player Lassana Diarrà arrived at the Bernabéu at 13:00 after passing his medical examination.

Diarrà arrived dressed in Real Madrid's official Hugo Boss suit for the 2008/09 seasons and was greeted by President Ramón Calderón in the noble area of the stadium. Board Members Antonio Medina and Pascual Cervera accompanied them both to the Board Room and witnessed the signing of the contract, set to end in 2013.

Calderón presented the player with a Real Madrid stylographic pen and a replica of the stadium. After the signing, Diarrà spent some time looking at the large number of trophies the Club has won, including nine European Cups.
