Real Madrid's signing of Alipio Duarte Brandao for Castilla is a clear example of the signing policy the Club has had since the start of the 2006/07 campaign. The Sporting Directorship at Real Madrid has signed young players with a bright future ahead of them that have already helped the team win two league titles. According to http://www.transfermarkt.de/, the average age of Real Madrid's recent signings is the youngest of the four Spanish teams currently playing in the Champions League. Emerson is the only one of the Club's 16 signings since the start of the 2006/07 seasn that has left the squad, proving the Club's policy to be a success.

The average age of Real Madrid's signings is 23.87 years. The Whites are followed in the Spanish ranking by Villarreal (24.05), Sevilla (24.14), Atletico Madrid (25.21) and Barcelona (26.42).

Many of the other teams' signings in recent years have already left their squads. Such is the case of Villarreal's Tomasson and Martín Cáceres; Sevilla's Kerzhakov, Keita and Hinkel; Atletico's Costinha, Mista, Eller and Jurado; and Barcelona's Zambrotta and Thuram.

The success of the signing policy of the Club has been proven by two league titles and a Spanish Super Cup. Sevilla is the only team to have had similar, albeit smaller, success by winning the UEFA Cup and the King's Cup in the 2006/07 season.
