Just when it seemed Real Madrid were going to lose -they were losing by 18 points in the third quarter-, Joan Plaza's boys suddenly showcased all their talent. The Whites grabbed a crucial victory against DKV Joventut thanks to a 20-0 run. Bullock led the team in its comeback, scoring 19 points and earning 24 performance points.
There were notable absences on both teams. Marko Tomas was unable to help Real Madrid, while DKV couldn't count on important men like Ricky Rubio and Pops Mensah-Bosu.
The game had an electrifying start, with both teams going back and forth on the floor, but Joventut soon took the lead thanks to eight points from Demond Mallet (12-3). The locals were solid in offfence unlike Real Madrid, who suffered from six turnovers in the first quarter, which ended 24-16 for DKV.
Louis Bullock stepped up to solve his team's problems in offence. He played inside the perimeter, acted as playmaker, served assists and scored several points. He even managed to pull off two blocks despite his 1.85 meter height. Despite all this, Joventut didn't falter and were kept very much alive by Jasaitis and Pere Tomas, who led them to a 45-33 victory at the end of the second quarter.
Sito Alonso's boys were playing a very solid game and managed to have a 22-point cushion over the Whites on the 22-minute mark. Seeing that they were about to be drowned in the clash, Real Madrid reacted and proudly began to embody the values of the Club. A victory was very important for them tonight; they needed it to boost their morale after the negative results of late.
Thanks mainly to Bullock, but also to Felipe Reyes, Mumbrú, Hervelle, Raül López and Massey, they pulled off an incredible 20-0 run, which allowed them to win the encounter against a baffled and powerless Joventut.
