Gago returned to training with the squad on Tuesday nearly one month after falling injured in Real Madrid's first Champions League match. It still remains to be seen whether Guti and Robben will be ready for Saturday's derby.
Still without its internationals, Real Madrid continued preparing for their upcoming derby at the Vicente Calderón. The first international to return to the Spanish capital was Diarra, who landed with a parameniscal cyst formation and synovitis in his right knee, virtually ruling him out of Saturday's encounter. Guti and Robben are also doubtful.
Rather than setting foot on the Valdebebas turf, Guti, Robben, and Diarra opted for gym and rehab work. Gago, however, returned to the squad in full swing.
Derby preparations
The rest of the squad -Van Nistelrooy, Drenthe, Saviola, Marcelo, Raúl, De la Red, Michel, Metzelder, Higuaín, Gago, Codina and Dudek- joined Jordi García on Field 3 for ball work prior to the tactical portion of the session.
Bernd Schuster has to wait until Thursday's evening workout before to have all his internationals on hand.
