Greece's Charisteas defeated Reina on the 41-minute mark of the Spain-Greece group stage clash of the Euro 2008, but Spain haven't conceded any goals since. Casillas and Reina are 74 minutes short of reaching Zubizarreta's and Buyo's record of standing undefeated for 692 minutes.
Spain was the top-scoring and the least scored upon side in the Euro, with 12 goals in their favour and only three against. Russia, Sweden and Greece managed to score against the Reds in the group stages, with Casillas between the posts against the first two sides and Reina against the Greeks. Spain went on to defeat Italy (0-0, penalty shootout), Russia (3-0) and Germany (1-0) in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final, respectively.
They have since defeated Denmark (3-0), Bosnia (1-0) and Armenia (4-0). Both Casillas and Reina played in the first match, but the Real Madrid keeper played throughout the latter two.
The two Spanish keepers are 74 minutes short of reaching the record established by Zubizarreta and Buyo with Spain between March 1992 and January 1993, during which time they didn't concede any goals for 692 minutes.
Casillas and Reina have a chance of breaking that record tonight against Estonia. They will be helped by a great defensive line that has helped Spain stand undefeated for 25 consecutive games.
