Joan Plaza expressed his displeasure with the mistakes his team made following Real Madrid's season opening loss to Unicaja Malaga.
“I am not sad that we lost. I am sad about the mistakes we made, which were the difference between winning and losing. We cannot begin a game and immediately give up ten points, and we cannot throw in the towel when there are still three minutes to play, even when losing by quite a few points. I am more sad about that than with the loss.”
“I am worried about the silly mistakes we made which we knew might happen. We cannot make mistakes in those situations. When you are losing by 12 or 14 points since the start of the first quarter, the tension is a lot greater and there is a lot more pressure. Although we weren't in the game, we didn't know how to play calmly or maintain the pressure when we actually had a chance to tie it up.”
