The Argentinean point-guard gave an exclusive interview to Realmadrid.com after signing his contract.
You are Real Madrid’s latest signing. You’ve played against the team for many years, which means you must know it well...
I am very satisfied. I played against Real Madrid for many years and I know their players rather well. I am very happy with the chance I’ve been given to join this club.
What can you bring to the team?
The most important thing I can bring is my experience. I’ve been playing for many years and I can help in many aspects of the game. I am very excited about working with this group of players. I hope to blend well with them and to offer several alternatives to the coach.
What do you expect of the season?
I hope to play well and to help the team. Real Madrid is obliged to reach as far as possible in every competition, making the collective goal to win every game. I want to work hard, fight, make sacrifices and -if possible- win titles.
You will be one of the team’s point-guards along with Raül López and Sergio Llull. The former has proven to be one of the best Spanish point-guards in recent years, while the latter is an extremely talented young player. What do you think of this?
I believe we can form a brilliant point-guard threesome. Raül is an exceptional, talented and experienced player. He played in the NBA, he is fit and he is very skilful at orchestrating the team’s game. Sergio may be very young, but he hasn’t gone unnoticed. He has a lot of class and may one day become a very important player. I am delighted to have the chance of fighting for a spot on the team with an experienced player and a young promise. The team and the coach will benefit from the different possibilities available to them.
