After stops in Portugal, Austria, England, and Colombia, Real Madrid hit the road again on Monday with Frankfurt as their final destination of the preseason. On Tuesday the Whites square off against Eintracht Frankfurt in a rematch of the 1960 European Cup.
Real Madrid's visit to Commerzbank-Arena will serve as a rematch of the team's epic 7-3 victory in front of 127,000 spectators at Hampden Park; a match that will always be remembered as "the best final of all time."
"It was a fabulous final. Puskas and Di Stéfano scored all the goals even though [Eintracht Frankfurt] went ahead on the scoreboard. Real Madrid was accustomed to overcoming adversity, especially when it had monsters like Puskas and Di Stéfano," recalls Paco Gento.
It will also be Rafael van der Vaart's first visit to Germany since signing for Real Madrid last Tuesday.
